First Look At Bane!

by Staub

(yup...that's it)

Bane has had a less-than questionable movie history, with this awful portrayal in 1997's Batman and Robin. Did we ever expect to see this Luchador turned super-thug in another Batman film, let alone a Christopher Nolan Batman Film, probably not. We know that Tom Hardy (Inception, Bronson) is going to bring the Bat-breaking powerhouse back to the silver screen in The Dark Knight Rises. But what will this new Bane look like?

April Fools!: Ellen Page to Join TDK Rises!

by Staub

It looks like the Inception wagon will not stop for director Chris Nolan. Nolan, who has been notorious for continuously casting the same actors and actresses from film to film is looking to make 2012's The Dark Knight Rises a giant Inception reunion. I personally know that Nerd Blerp's own Graves will be the most upset about this. Ellen Page is best known for her work in Juno, which got her nominated for an Academy Award, co-starring with the ever-lovable, yet ever-awkward Michael Cera. Page has also flexed her super-hero muscles before: in The X-Men movies, starring as Kitty Pride, better known as Shadowcat.

The Dark Knight Collapses

by graves

Well, at least the rumors can stop now. Thank god we will no longer be besieged by insane, insipid, idiotic fan boys shouting things out like: Eddie Murphy is playing the Riddler! or Megan Fox is Catwoman or Cher is Clayface wait, I mean Catwoman! Thank the fuck Christ were finally done with that shit. And no more speculation about who Tom Hardy is playing either. Could it be Hugo Strange? Basil Karlo? Maxie Zeus? The guessing game has been going on for months and its driven me to the point of madness. I decided to stop playing the guessing game a while ago and just have faith that Christopher Nolan will pick the right villain and cast the right people. Clearly, I am an idiot.

New Batman: Arkham City Screens

by Grizz
The long awaited sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum is scheduled for release Fall 2011. Batman: Arkham City sees a partitioned section of the Gothams slums acting as the new asylum, where now-mayor Sharpe (former Warden, remember him?) keeps the insane citizens locked and guarded by a mercenary group. While there has been little in the way of solid game-play information, new screenshots revealed last week show beautiful graphic and character design, introducing us to new thugs, Two-Face, and an improved Harley Quinn. Earlier in August, GameInformer.com revealed a hidden section in the first game that reveals Sharpes blueprints and possible map for the asylum-city.

Batman: Under the Red Hood Review

by Grizz

Batman: Under the Red Hood is the newest animated film by DC. It's good to see that they're jumping on the bandwagon that Marvel started a few years back by releasing movies direct to DVD/Blu-ray. Whereas Marvel can releases up to two or three live-action movies a year for their franchises, DC is much slower, often averaging one a year if any at all. These animated films act to supplement the demand to see our favorite characters in action. I haven't seen that many of the animated films myself, but when this came up on Netflix it immediately caught my attention. So I waited patiently for its release and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

"Batman 3" - Summer 2012 FTW

by Grizz

It was announced two days ago the the third installment of the Batman franchise would be released on July 20th, 2012. It's going up against other hyped summer releases such as the reboot of Spider-Man, The Avengers, Brave (formally "The Bear and the Bow"), Battleship, and Star Trek 2. While Christopher Nolan has not been officially announced as director, he has been known to be working on a script.

The news has been met with joy and relief, as the Mayan prophecy that would end time is not slated until December, so we should at least expect a Blu-Ray release of 'Batman 3' before the Apocalypse.
